PI: I. N. Athanasiadis.
The goal of the project was the design, implementation and evaluation of low power, energy-efficient sensor networks together with a suite of high-level, programming tools, tailored to the specific requirements of real-time environmental management. The project’s generic solution was evaluated in two pilot applications, one in the domain of hydrological infrastructure management, and the other in the area of wildlife monitoring and protection.
Our investigations focused on knowledge modelling of the two case studies by means of ontologies and tools for environmental data stream fusion from environmental sensor networks.
I was leading the team of Democritus University of Thrace in the project, comprised of two faculty members and four PhD students.
